LET’S PAINT A SHARK!
As Ambassador for Fin Free Thailand, a community campaign to take shark fin off the menu, in order to protect sharks, our oceans and consumers' health, I've been involved in a number of acitivities and out-reach programs in order to spread awareness for the cause. One of the these was to lead a pack of students of NIST International School in painting a giant mural of my favorite shark species, the hammerhead. We had only 2 hours to make it happen, so I came up with an abstract, paint-by-numbers design so it would be easy to involve all the kids in the process. It was a wonderful group effort and by the end we were all paint-splattered and very proud of our mural. Anyone passing by Henry the Hammerhead at NIST, do stop to admire our work and say hi.... and please remember to spread the message to SAY NO TO SHARK FIN SOUP!!
ในฐานะ Ambassador ของโครงการ ฟินฟรีไทยแลนด์ ซึ่งเป็นโครงการรณรงค์ให้นำหูฉลามออกจากเมนูร้านอาหารและโรงแรม จุดประสงค์เพื่ออนุรักษ์ฉลามที่นับวันน้อยลงอย่างน่าตกใจ หนึ่งในกิจกรรมโครงการนั้นก็คือการได้ไปพูดคุยแล้วก็ให้ความรู้กับเด็กๆที่โรงเรียนนานาชาติ และเราได้รับเชิญจากโรงเรียนนานาชาติ NIST ให้ซินดี้นำทีมเด็กๆเพ้นท์รูปฉลามบนกำแพงโรงเรียน ถือว่าเป็นกิจกรรมท้าทายเลยทีเดียวเพราะเรามีเวลาเพียง 2 ชั่วโมงเท่านั้น บวกกับต้องให้เด็กๆมีส่วนร่วมทาสีบนกำแพงที่มีขนาดใหญ่ ซินดี้ก็เลยวาดรูปฉลามหัวฆ้อนแบบ abstract แล้วก็ให้น้องๆช่วยกันลงสีในแต่ละส่วน ทุกคนสนุกสนานมากแล้วผลสุดท้ายออกมาเป็นที่น่าภูมิใจของเด็กๆทุกคนรวมถึงอาจารย์แล้วก็พวกเรา ทีม Fin Free ฝากบอกต่อกันด้วยนะคะ เลิกกินหูฉลามได้แล้วค่ะ ด้วยความหวังดี
